In 1879, 23 year old Otto Alexander Lueddecke travelled from his home in Halberstad, Saxony to Hamburg from where he sailed via Le Havre on the SS Gellert, arriving two and a half weeks later at Ellis Island immigration, New York. From there he travelled to Ironton, Missouri, quickly established himself, married and raised five children. One of those five children is the grandfather of Alice Laird.
We welcome contact, not only from descendants of Otto Lueddecke, but other Lueddeckes, both in the United States and in Germany.
